There are two offences when it comes time to driving without insurance. Did you get caught driving with no insurance or did you fail to show your insurance card to the officer?
If you failed to show proof of insurance, there is a minimal fine and it does not carry any demerit points, however, it will show up as a conviction on your driving record. If you are caught driving without owning insurance, this is a far greater ordeal. You are automatically summoned to court. If you are convicted, there are no demerit points, but the conviction carries a minimum mandatory fine of $5000 and a minimum license suspension of 30 days and a maximum of 6 months of jail time.
This is not something you should take lightly and that is what we are here for. Our job is to fight for you in court and ensure your fine and suspension time are not longer than they should be.
Traffic Ticket Lawyers Toronto is here to help people fight driving without insurance offences. Do not let the court dictate the punishment of your negligence and let us step up to fight for your driving rights.
